Em is painfully stubborn, determined to maiintain her decaying body. She's a melancholic character who feel isolated due to her undead state. She's developed a dry, sometimes dark sense of humour to cope with her situation, she often jokes about her own death and decay and often uses sarcasm to distance herself emotionally when she's uncomfortable.

Em used to live in a small space colony known for its medical research and unethical experiments, but the outside world saw it as a clean, corporate-run utopia. She wasn't a scientist or some sort of rebel, she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

When the colony's experiments with reanimation began failing, Em was declared brain-dead after a freak accident. Rather than informing her family or disposing of her body, the facility kept her as a test subject. They stitched her up, injected chemicals, rewired organs, and even rebuilt part of her brain. After almost a year of these experiments the company pulled the plug and discarded her in a cryogenic freezer.

Em was discovered years later by Zarla when she was searching through the medical storage of the old stolen ship.
