Considering Ping spent five years isolated in space, it's safe to say they aren't the most stable character. Ping struggles with social cues, they tend to think before they speak, they can be seen as brutally honest, and will often times ramble to themself when they're alone. Despite this, Ping is energetic and cares deeply about those they care about.

Ping was born on Mobius into a large family of opossums. They always knew they were different than their peers, far more intelligent than anyone around them. At age five, Ping could solve high school-level math equations and create complex robots with metal scraps from the local dump.

At age ten, Ping had finished their passion project: a fully functional spaceship to explore what was beyond their small planet. They intended to fly into orbit and land back on Mobius after a few days, like a camping trip for a probably autistic genius who was obsessed with space. Unfortunately, the ship's engine malfunctioned, causing them to go past Mobius' orbit and into space. Ping was left to ration whatever food they had on board and hope someone would eventually find them.

After five years, Ping crash-landed on Earth. They were rescued by Dr. Robotnik and Agent Stone, and they eventually ended up working alongside them after the doctor discovered just how intelligent Ping truly is.
